The bond and mortgage market have been uneventful this past week. No real changes at all. The Bank of Canada announcement is next Tuesday and no changes are expected.
We still have 2 lenders offering 10 year funds at 3.89%. A wonderful option for those concerned... [ read more ]

The past week has been uneventful in the bond market. No real movement one way or another. With the "rate wars" over for the moment, lender's have increased their 5 year fixed rates. Most lender's have 5 yr fixed in the 3.29-3.59% range.

The past week saw bond rates hit a new high for 2012. They have moved up approximately 30 basis points the last 2 weeks. There is a chance of a rate increase on fixed rate mortgages at any time. Overall rates continue to be extremely low.

The bond rate hit a low for 2011 on Dec. 19th. There have been marginal increases since then but the it still remains at close to record lows.
